ZIGILABAN-DUM

In the central regions of the Orocarni Mountains, beneath the Earth, a grand kingdom dwelt. This kingdom was ruled by King Gror, Uncle to the King of Mazar-Dum, and Grandfather to Lord Dain of the Iron Hills. The kingdoms name was Zigilaban-Dum in Khuzdul, and when translated, Silver-Stone City. The kingdom housed the line of Blacklocks, one of the four Dwarf races of the Orocarni. Though much of this kingdoms history remains a mystery, it was not unknown that these Dwarves aided their kin, both of the Northern, Eastern and Southern regions. A fierce and cunning race, the Blacklocks prospered in their kingdom, never connecting to the other races of Middle-Earth. They were extremely proud Dwarves, never willing to take a chance on others. They felt that sticking to their kin was the only true way to live as a Dwarf. The kingdoms list of allies was small, never relying on Elves or Men. Both were either too weak, or not willing to care, which, in the eyes of King Gror, was dishonourable and not worth his time.

The kingdoms primary source of wealth was silver, which was dug deep in the earth. The kingdom was littered with silver light, shining in the deepest halls. Its architecture was that of a unique and specific design. The kingdom spanned from the South to the North, creating a passageway to North-Eastern Rhun. Though rarely outsiders would take the passage as it was well guarded and only those with the permission of the king would enter. The kingdom houses three gates, a Northern, Southern and a Western gate. All guarded and towering high, fortifying the mountains defences.

Their king, Gror, was a noble and proud Dwarf, always loyal to those he deemed worthy. Gror was considered one of the most reasonable of the seven Dwarf Lords, and yet, his presence was always missed at various events. He would never seek war, nor fight over petty grievances; he would always resolve the matter in a way that would not cause pointless death and ruin. Though loyal, and having deep connections into many of the other Dwarf Kingdoms, he often felt distant, and kept to himself during dark times, finding other ways to approach a situation without revealing himself.
To others, he seemed a lesser lord than the others, yet, when in his presence, there would be moments which some could see his true personality, a natural born leader, tactician and powerful warrior, never failing to put himself in harm’s way to protect others.
